CITY POOLS NEED CASH TO STAY AFLOAT.(CAPITAL REGION)

The city only has enough money to run Central Park Pool and one other municipal pool this year, leaving open the possibility that three of its neighborhood pools won't open this summer unless $60,000 can be raised, the city's park director told lawmakers Tuesday.

The city only budgeted $129,000 for swimming pools this year, far short, Bill Seber said, of the $190,000 he estimates it will take to operate the main pool in Central Park and four smaller neighborhood pools.
