Eastern Industrial Gases (EIG), a joint venture between Air Liquide and BOC, will double oxygen capacity at Laem Chabang, Thailand by building an air separation unit, Air Liquide says. The project follows signing of a $30-million, 15-year contract under which EIG will supply 10,000 cu meters/day of oxygen to the glass manufacturing plant of Siam Asahi Technoglass at Laem Chabang, starting later this month. The new plant will also supply oxygen and nitrogen to other industrial customers via EIG's Laem Chabang pipeline network, Air Liquide says. Capacities and timing of the project were not disclosed.
